01 · Explain

What the sources say

The Philippine National ID system was established in 2018. Its law provides for use as proof of identity, subject to authentication, and requires consent for collecting identity information for authentication.

In its 29 May 2025 release, the Philippine Statistics Authority reiterated acceptance of card, paper and digital National ID formats for financial transactions. The BSP memorandum includes the National ID alongside other government-issued IDs.

Proving identity and qualifying for a service are different matters. This topic asks about your preferred approach to checking identity, rather than whether someone should receive a bank account.

These notes describe the dated sources below. They do not establish the status of a later proposal or promise that identity checks always succeed.

02 · Ask

Which approach would you prefer?

One main question about bank and e-wallet identity checks, an optional priority question, and a question about whether you watched the explainer. About two minutes for adults 18 or older.

We ask your broad residence group so Philippine residents and Filipinos abroad can be reported separately. We do not ask for a name, email or ID number.

The question opens after review and the fieldwork dates are set.

03 · Report back

A place to return.

The results page will show whether the survey is open, closed for review, or has a reviewed report. Any release will explain who answered, the wording, field dates, source channels and limitations.
